Arguments have raged since about whether the cold-blooded killer depicted was supposed to be a Republican or a Loyalist. The debate misses the point, the target was simply the killers and those who sheltered or excused them, regardless of which side they were on.
The truth is that both sides had legitimate and real grievances and fears, and people from both sides did unspeakable things. That is the nature of war, with civil wars being the worst.
