Happy Christmas to All Our Orthodox Brethren

Happy Christmas to All Our Orthodox Brethren

Across Europe and the Middle East, celebrations of Orthodox Christmas are underway. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, where Christmas falls on December 25, countries following the ancient Julian calendar celebrate Christmas today.

This is footage of the Reception of His Grace Abuna Enbakom, Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in the Holy Land at Manger Square Bethlehem, West Bank. Christian Palestinians are among the victims of outright genocide in Gaza, and face oppression and violence from the Zionist state in the West Bank too.

In Ukraine, meanwhile, Orthodox Christians have had their churches closed and believers and priests beaten up by thugs loyal to the Zelensky regime.

We pray that, despite these terrible injustices, all our Orthodox brethren and friends have a Happy and Peaceful Christmas today. Deus Vult!
