We wish all our Irish readers, and the millions more people of Irish descent all over the world, a very happy and peaceful day.
St. Patrick was a Romano-Briton from Strathclyde, in the west of what is now Scotland. He spoke a form of proto-Welsh and his efforts to spread Christianity in Ireland later led to the wave of evangelism which turned much of England and Western Europe to the True Faith.
