Immigration: A Humane and Christian answer

The number of illegal migrants risking life and limb to get into Europe is increasing all the time. Here are two shocking videos which give a glimpse of the desperate lengths these people will go to in their efforts to reach Western countries where they believe ‘the streets are paved with gold’.

The sad thing, of course, is that they are not. If they manage to make the journey, they face lives of low pay, insecurity and crime-ridden slums.

Wouldn’t it would be better if the international banks, global corporations and oil-state sovereign wealth funds were made to stop looting their countries and grabbing their land and natural riches so that their people had a chance of building decent lives for themselves and their families at home? What would Jesus have said?
