Liberal Web Censorship Will Create Terror

Liberal Web Censorship Will Create Terror

An unholy alliance of socialist bureaucrats and giant corporate capitalists is moving to hammer the final nails into the coffin of effective free speech in the Internet Era. And, in so doing, they will do more to foster and incite violent extremism than any of their proposed targets for censorship could ever have done.

The liberal-leftists in charge of Facebook wasted no time exploiting the appalling mass mosque shooting in New Zealand by using it as an excuse for an open ban on anything its leftist moderates deem to be ‘white nationalism’.

‘Over the past three months our conversations with members of civil society and academics who are experts in race relations around the world have confirmed that white nationalism and separatism cannot be meaningfully separated from white supremacy and organized hate groups,’ the firm wrote in a blog post.

‘Going forward, while people will still be able to demonstrate pride in their ethnic heritage, we will not tolerate praise or support for white nationalism and separatism.’

So ‘Black Pride’, ‘Gay Pride’, ‘La Raza’ and socialist class war rhetoric will be fine, but anything and everything in favour of being straight, white, and in due course Christian will be ‘verboten’. Even the mildest and most considered and reasonable criticisms of immigration or Islamisation will now be banned.

At the same time, the socialist-dominated European Parliament is set to impose a blanket ban on the use of images, film clips or music in online posts or memes. At one go, this will effectively kill off the use of memes to poke fun at corrupt politicians or their absurd ideologies.
Satire has for centuries been the most important weapon against tyrannies of all kinds, but the EU’s Article 13 will force satire back from spreading as speed of light, multi-million-reach virals to the time of underground printed pamphlets with circulations in the hundreds.
The controversial Article 13 copyright law is less about copyright than it is about hammering a final nail in the coffin of the freedoms the internet once promised. Yes, Article 13 is that bad.

Most laws address themselves toward tangible, human-sized problems. Article 13, the sweeping European copyright legislation will filter all content on its way to the web. Ostensibly, this is to ensure no rights are being violated, in reality, it will act as a giant gag against effective freedom of expression.

Which, of course, will lead to even more anger, frustration and fear. Those who feel it will be confined to much smaller and ever more radical echo chambers on the Dark Web, where things will fester until they break out in fresh acts of nihilistic and counter-productive terrorist violence.

That in turn will become the excuse for even worse repression, with the failed policies of censorship giving way to prison bars and to extra-judicial murder by the system’s far-left enforcers such as Antifa, and tit-for-tat violence by their victims.

Madness! Utter madness!
