Look What We've Got!

Yes! The Veluxe rooflights we ordered - thanks to several very generous donations - several weeks ago have been delivered.
This brings even closer the exciting moment when we cut through the Priory roof and finally get to see what we hope will be an inspiring view of our gorgeous little chapel, and especially its ornate marble Cross.
As you can see from the photo below, though, we've got one more vital job to do first:
That length of steel and the two planks are about to become what skilled builders call a "flitchbeam". Their job is to strengthen the roof where we're removing structural timbers so as to increase the headroom and useable floor space in the converted attic rooms.
With the floors laid that's now the main job for the next few days. And THEN it'll be the turn of the roof windows.
That will be a HUGE turning point in the whole renovation, so if by chance you haven't chipped in recently, or have done but want to help even more, now - at the start of Lent -would be a great time to do so.
