Work Begins on Kitchen and Dining Room - Priory Update
We've opened a new front in the fight to get the Priory renovation finished! This week has seen the start of the last major structural work - the raising and bringing up to standard of the roof of the rear extension which will house the kitchen and dining room.
.

The entire rear wall of the dining room (to the left of the back door as you look at it from the outside) is going to be removed and replaced with full length patio windows (which are already paid for, made and waiting to be fitted), but they can only be accommodated by raising the roof.
Since it needed a big upgrade anyway, this will be very little extra cost although, of course, the work still has to be paid for.

The picture below shows very clearly where the three roof lights have been let into the main roof during the work to convert the attic rooms into extra bedrooms. It also shows the two main windows already in two of the four first floor bedrooms.
Moist of all it shows the gaping hole already created by the new work. Obviously, we've got tarpaulins ready for the inevitable Irish rain, but the only truly reliable way to get the building weather-proofed and ready for the inside work is to get the new roof on as quickly as possible.

.
We're sure you'll appreciate this and - if at all possible - chip in to help out and to keep the progress going during the crucial next couple of weeks.
Thank you if you can help, and God bless you if you can't. Deus Vult!
