Follow @KnightsTempOrgA shocking court verdict has laid bare the outrageous totalitarinism of the UK's liberal elite. Pro-life campaigner Livia Tossici-Bolt has been convicted for offering consensual conversation in a “buffer zone” near an abortion facility in Bournemouth, England.
She held a sign stating, “Here to talk if you want”. For this, she was dragged to court, put on trial, and found GUILTY on Friday.
What has happened to Livia is a grave violation of the basic right to free expression. No one should be criminalised for peacefully offering to talk to people on a public street.
But Livia’s case is not an isolated incident. It is part of a disturbing and undeniable crackdown on free speech in Britain.
We saw it with Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, arrested twice for silently praying in a Birmingham “buffer zone”, and Adam Smith-Connor, criminally charged for silently praying in a Bournemouth “buffer zone”.
Claims that the UK is a bastion of free speech ring hollow indeed when law-abiding citizens like Livia are prosecuted for nothing other than peacefully offering to speak to people.
Most shocking of all is that, having found here guilty, the court ordered Livia to pay prosecution costs of £20,000. This is a deliberate effort to make taking a pro-life position ruinously expensive.
The verdict can also be seen as a deliberate challenge to Donald Trump and J. D. Vance, who have suggested that Starmer's UK could face higher tariffs if its ruling elite continues to oppress Christians and patriots. The ball has just bounced back into their court.....
