The Lord's Prayer From Templar Times to Today
The Lord's Prayer From Templar Times to Today
Follow @KnightsTempOrgWhile Templar prayers were generally in Latin, the common folk of England - among whom the Templars lived, worked, travelled and fought - would often have said the Lord's Prayer in their native tongue.
This very interestong little video starts with English accents expert Simon Roper delivering the first few lines of the prayer in the English of each century, starting in 1124, just four or five years after the founding of our noble Order.
After presenting the changes as they took place over the centuries, the researcher explains how English developed in this way. This longer, second part, is frankly rather optional, but we definitly recommend the first few minutes.
