This week in history: Hungarian Revolution 1956
Fifty two years ago the people of Hungary began the most heroic and effective uprisings against the brutal Communist dictatorship imposed on eastern and central Europe by the Soviet Union (the Wall Street- founded Islamic State of its day).
Ten of thousands of young people, mainly ordinary workers and patriotic students, rose in revolt to demand their personal freedom and national sovereignty.
Not for the first, nor the last, time, Hungary led Europe in resisting tyranny.
