Woke Christmas range launched at popular US retailer

Target have released its festive decorations range which includes Santas of various ethnicities in wheelchairs and a toy soldier carrying the LGBTQ+ Pride flag and wearing a rainbow hat.

The company suffered losses when shoppers boycotted Target for stocking Pride month merchandise and transgender-friendly swimwear earlier this year.

Beer brand Bud Light, chocolate company Hershey's and conservative broadcaster Fox News faced call for boycotts in 2023.

Target shut some stores after bomb threats were called in and staff assaulted over the outrage following the release of its Pride Month range in June.

"Our focus now is on moving forward with our continuing commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community and standing with them as we celebrate Pride Month and throughout the year," Target spokesperson Kayla Castaneda said at the time.
