Wonderful Templar Vineyard

The vast estates donated over centuries to the Tmplar Order often included vineyards. One such was at Banyuls-sur-Mer in the south of France at the meeting point between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean. 

Today, this has been revived as the Terre des Templiers ("Land of the Templars") winery, with vines striving to survive on 700 hectares of rocky hillside overlooking the sea producing some superb wines.
