With all the structural work done and all three roof lights (two of which are also fire escapes) installed, this week has seen us move on to insulating the Priory House roof.
'
As you probably know, the island of Ireland often sees periods of cold and damp, so high spec insulation isn't just a matter of saving money on heating costs, it's also needed to keep the two bedrooms in the converted roof space toasty warm for our guests. It certainly doesn't look warm in our first picture, which shows George and Jim with all the structural work done, but not a scrap of insulation in place.
'

.
Our next picture certainly looks much better, with the wall having had its multi-layer insulation applied. Just imagine that all boarded, plastered, painted and perhaps with a framed picture there to personalise the place. Well, it's all going to happen, and quite soon!

The whole Priory House will not be ready for this year's Knighting Ceremony in June, but we are aiming to have a lot more progress to show to our visitors during their trip here. Just how much progress depends on cash flow. Quite bluntly, materials and builder's time all cost money. If we haven't got it, we have no choice but to slow to a snail's pace. If the money keeps coming in, we can keep George working full time and keep him supplied with materials.
'
The house is here, we have turned our vision of the ocmpletely project into plans and into a huge amount of essential, 'heavy' work already done. But we need YOUR help to keep on going.
'
Thank you if you can help, and God bless you if you can't. Deus Vult!
