Lee Rigby Anniversary – ‘forgotten’ by mainstream media

Perhaps predictably, the fifth anniversary of murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby in a street in suburban south east London yesterday was totally ignored by the BBC and the vast majority of the mainstream media in Great Britain.

The decision of Greenwich council to deny permission for a permanent memorial to Lee at the place where he was murdered removes a proper focus for commemorations, but groups of football fans went there nevertheless.

Meanwhile, in his hometown of Rochdale, Lancashire, bikers from all over northern England gathered for a Memorial Ride.

Many congratulations to all who attended such events – and shame on the media for ignoring the anniversary!
