The Knights Templar in Ireland – Dublin – Clontarf

This is a brief look at the 12th century castle and church in Clontarf on Dublin’s north side. The Order of Knights Templar developed a significant presence in Ireland and were there from the 12th to the 14th century.

Unfortunately most of their sites now only survive as place names. Even this famous castle has, as you will see, been heavily rebuilt.
