BAN the Notting Hill Carnival

423 arrests. 32 assaults on police. 40 possession of offensive weapons. 32 possession of Class A drugs. 18 sexual offences. 5 robberies. 136 other offences. The figures speak for themselves - the so-called 'Carnival' is in fact a rolling crime wave.

West London was spared full-scale rioting this year, the the cost of keeping thusands of riot officers stationed in reserve every year only adds to the enormous burden to decent taxpayers. Every year, this event puts thousands of local residents, and hundreds of shops and small businesses, under virtual siege in their own streets.

No-one else would be allowed to get away with this. It's time to end this blatant favouritism and BAN this annual crime-fest!

We the undersigned demand that the government BAN the Notting Hill 'Carnival'. If this crime-fest was a tradition among the indigenous British people it would have been outlawed many years ago on the grounds of crime prevention, public safety and the danger to police officers.

It is time to apply the law without fear or favour and to end this annual explosion of criminality. Ban the Notting Hill Carnival for good!
