Progress Room by Room - Priory Project Update

Our first picture in your Progress Report actually gives more of an idea of just how much there is still to do! This is the main living room, which - as you can see - is at present more of a general builder's store. The two stacks of plain firedoors, however, give a hint of what's to come. The apparently medieval chapel door has one just like this at its (fireploof) core.
.
Imagine each of them, skilfully clad with old-style timber planks and stained down - fitting for a Templar building with all sorts of features echoing centuries long passed.
.

Look at those parts of the room's coming fireplace: Solid marble, just waiting to be fitted into place and reconstructed to form a stunning central feature. The level of craftsmanship in that authentic stone is really something. In position, with oak panelling all around it and a blazing hearth in the middle, it will truly grace this room, and our gatherings therein. We look forward to sharing such a time with you.

Below: Another of the en suite rooms gets its flooring insulation installed. This will cut both heat loss and noise - a job doubly worth doing.
 .
Below: The newly-installed carved limestone fireplace in the main front bedroom. This is another authentic, salvaged antique. We've had these fireplaces in store for some years now - we certainly wouldn't want to be buying them today, because prices for such fine and elegant pieces have gone through the roof.
.

So, despite the chaos in the main living room, you can see that George really is getting there. Every week now is seeing a major transformation in one part of the house or another. Sometimes, in fact, in several rooms. We're on a roll.

If you can chip in this week, please do so, because regular donations keep the Building Fund topped up. If post-Christmas bills have been biting, then perhaps you could make a belated New Year's Resolution to help out at the end of this month (or next month, if push really comes to shove). Because, together, we're going to get this wonderful project finished.

Thank you if you can help, and God bless you if you can't. Deus Vult!
