There were no immigration laws when the Europeans arrived, so they and their descendants are not illegal aliens as we know the term today. The "Nation of immigrants" mantra is a contradictory statement in itself. Someone native born had to build the country for immigrants to come to an established nation. We are not a nation of immigrants. We are a nation which was founded by brave settlers after which came immigrants.
