Utter Depravity: Drag act declared that children should be taught to 'open their LEGS'

A drag show act has outrageously said that children should be taught to 'open their minds, open their hearts and open their legs' before drag acts took their clothes off as part of a show in South London.

The drag performances were part of the National Theatre's 2022 River Stage festival in July and August.

The National Theatre have said the comments made by a performer went 'against the festival's content and performance guidelines' and the performer in question would be banned from River Stage in future.

A spokesperson for The National Theatre said: 'The National Theatre’s River Stage festival includes a wide range of free performances and activities across five weekends – from dance workshops to DJs, striving to foster an atmosphere of positivity and inclusivity.

'Many events are suitable for all ages, and the National Theatre works with programming partners to ensure acts are scheduled for the most appropriate time of day.

'The National Theatre is aware that a comment, which goes against the festival's content and performance guidelines, was made on stage during the first weekend of the festival; the performer will not appear again at the River Stage.'

The controversy comes after a 'family sex show' caused an uproar in April. The show encouraged children as young as five to explore 'sexual pleasure', 'try sexual practices' and 'draw and label' male and female genitals .
