Follow @KnightsTempOrgThe Knights Templar were essentially the most powerful and elite fighting force in the history of Christendom. They guarded thousands of travellers to the Holy Land from bandits and Muslim slave raiders.
To become a Templar, a warrior donated his worldly possessions to the Order and took an oath of piety, chastity and obedience unto death. Part of rising in the Templar ranks involved acts of bravery and courage, which meant that the higher the knight’s rank, the more he had faced almost impossible odds in battle – and emerged victorious for Christ!
