London Blitz – This Day in History

On September 7th, 1940, Londoners woke to another normal day. But on 25th August, the RAF had bombed Berlin. Hitler, enraged, had ordered the obliteration of London in retaliation.

This gripping documentary relates the story of the very first day of the London Blitz, when the Second World War hit home for ordinary Londoners. By this time, today in 1940, the first wave of bombs had already hit – and it was only just the beginning.
