Jailed Rescuer Calls for Civil Disobedience

A pro-life activist in jail for picketing an abortuary is calling for mass civil disobedience in the fight to save unborn babies.

Will Goodman fell foul of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances in 2020, but is making use of his time in prison to think long and hard about winning tactics for the future, writing:

'Here in jail I was able to read a special supplement in the Washington Post about the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington led by Rev. King. In the opening of his famous “I have a dream” speech on August 28, 1963, he greeted marchers from around the country, recognizing especially those who had just been released from jails in Mississippi.

'He had no fear. The crowd cheered when he said these words. They did not recoil in shame, fear, or embarrassment.

Christians Persecuted in Pakistan

There is a deafening media silence over the regular, brutal persecution of Christians in heavily Muslim Pakistan. This has been going on for decades, but a major incident last month highlighted the twin problems of the genocidal violence itself and the liberal Western media's refusal to cover it.

Hundreds of Christians fled their homes on August 16 when, in the eastern Pakistani district capital of Jaranwala, Muslim mobs started an anti-Christian riot, vandalizing churches and setting churches and Christians' homes on fire -- all based just on an accusation that a Quran had been desecrated.

At least 20 churches throughout the city were set on fire and more than 400 homes belonging to Christians damaged. The rioters attacked and vandalized a Christian cemetery and burned the office of the Christian assistant commissioner of Jaranwala.

Abortion and Demographics - the Christian Perspective

Abortion has been a deeply debated and divisive issue in both the United Kingdom and Ireland. Understanding the extent of abortion and its long-term demographic and social impact, as well as considering the traditional Christian position on the matter, sheds light on the complexity of this issue.

In the United Kingdom, abortion has been legal since 1967 under the Abortion Act, with later amendments. This legislation permits abortions under various circumstances, including when the physical or mental health of the mother is at risk, foetal abnormalities, or if the pregnancy is a result of rape. The guidelines are interpreted so widely that the UK has one of the highest abortion rates in Europe.

Ireland had some of the most restrictive abortion laws globally until the repeal of the Eighth Amendment in 2018. The 2018 referendum legalised abortion in Ireland, albeit with certain restrictions and conditions.
