Follow @KnightsTempOrgHigh upon a rocky crag in northern Slovakia – close to the border with Poland – stands magnificent Orava Castle. Extended and rebuilt many times in its turbulent history, it started life after the devastating Mongol invasion of Hungary in 1214.
Local legends tell of it being garrisoned by “Red Monks”, one of the names given to the Templars.
Slovakia has many links with the Knights Templar – just another reason to visit this beautiful an hospitable country….
