Our Priory Chapel is Nearly Finished

The first new Knights Templar chapel in more than 700 years is nearly completion. The restoration work on the little stone building at the rear of the St. Donard Priory is almost done, with the exterior complete and the finishing touches now being put to the stunning ceiling.

While further work remains to bring the building's floor up to standard, visitors are already struck by the solemn, almost mystical atmosphere when they stand in the chapel. The Upper and Lower Chapter Houses are also finished and, once again, the first visitors have been blown away by the quality of the workmanship and material used.

A full account of the project, together with some lovely pictures, will appear in our Annual Report, which goes to print this coming week. It will also be released as a virtual magazine online.
